d/c charger solution
i just got my new charger in the mail and since it's d/c i was wondering how to power it. i've come down to 2 things hook it up to a car battery charger with an output of 12v or de-assemble an old a/c charger and take the converter out to convert a/c to d/c the only problem is that im not sure if the output would be 12v. are there any other cheap ways to do it? (no car batteries!)

Converting an old power supply from a personal computer is cheap and easy. Here's one of many how-to articles out there: http://www.wikihow.com/Convert-a-Com...b-Power-Supply
Another option is to simply buy a 12V power supply from Radio Shack. Here's a link to some of their products: http://www.radioshack.com/search/ind...%20supply&sr=1

I would not suggest hooking it up to a car charger. They are not regulated and will not give satisfactory charging, could even ruin your charger.
You could make a pc power supply charger, I use one of those, but I also have one of these and it works great:

Wally world and/or Target had some cheapies too that were 5-6 amp and were from Coleman I think. I can't remeber what they were for. Power for a heater or cooler or something like that . Under $20.
