upgrading
I have an electric colt 1:10 on-road tourer, i'm thinking of upgradeing to a brushless motor, but would still like to be able to run in the 540 class...
If i upgrade to a brushless ecu, would i still be able to just swap the 540 motor back into it? Or would i have to swap the ecu AND motor each time i wanted to race in a different class?
In other words, would a brushless ecu work with a 540 motor?
Cheers,

RE: upgrading
it would depend on what ESC you decide to use. I think that must brushless ESC's can run brushed, and brushless motors so you would only have to swap the motor. Also don't forget that you will probably have to change the gearing.

RE: upgrading
Many brushless ESCs will have no problem with a brushed motor. It should say in the specs when you start looking for one. The wiring is a little different so if you are going to switch back and forth you may want to install some quick disconnect tabs on the brushed and brushless motor as well as the esc.
