I'm about to add some sort of floatation to my boat.

I was thinking why do people use the pool noodles? It is a good idea but what about something like small car tubes blown up to a certain point and mounted with cable ties etc?
When doing punctures with 8 inch atv tubes it isn't easy pushing a blown up tube into a bath meaning it can take a few kgs.

Apart from the price is it a better option?

Whats wrong with noodles? they float dont puncture what more do you need?,ive also used pipe insulators with the same success.You can also cut the noodles to fit anywhere they need to go try doing that with an innertube .

for some reason the pool noodle can handle the Nitro fuel and Gas, the rubber inner tube however thats another story.

another handy thing is if you need ad w8 to your boat you can insert it inside the noodle with out making a mess of your boat

You can color coordinate noodles, they are reasonably cheap, deaden vibration to some extent, can be used toward the rear of the boat for stern floatation, are easy to cut to shape where needed, can also be used on hatch floatation, are very forgiving, impervious to most solvents and fuels, are maintainence free, are available in different sizes and shapes, and work
