I had my boat stall out and had to swim out and rescue it to restart it on shore. Is there a way I can set up a starter motor to it so I can hit the third "AUX" button on my DX3 Spektrum radio and start it ? I have a kill switch set up for throttle(brake) and it will shut it off remotely, but need a way to restart it.

I don't think it is too common as people just run high idles, but to answer your question, no can't help.

There are a few electric starter kits on the market for a zen but it will only help you if everything else is set up right (Tuned right and working well). If you are having motor problems etc the electric starter will not solve them as it needs a reliable motor to work with.

On a side note - we lost a member last month swimming for his boat - Investing $30 in a raft from Walmart might save you from more than just another swim

I'm a jetskier and a strong swimmer for sure


I am a lazy swimmer.. LOL life vest are better for back stroke anyway, and pushing/ pulling a boat is far easier than treading water with one hand

He was a swimmer too. Just dont want to see any one else pay the ultimate price for the hobby.

Sad that he died unfortunately swimming to get a boat ( or waiting till it comes in on its own is something we have to be prepared for.
Its why i bring my vest with me even to a pond..... ya never know where or when it my decide to stall....... we just hope its 3 feet from shore and doesn't require an imprompetau swim.

Hence why a remote restart would kickass and just plain cool

The only person that swims for a boat is a missguided one lets put it politeley ,the grave yard is full of strong swimmers who ignore warnings.Buy a rescue boat either a cheap electric you can send out with fishing line atached so you can catch your boat and pull them both in or buy a dinghy.For close in you cant beat the fishing rod and tennis ball and no need to even get your feet wet.

ive seen a few gas boats with a electric set up also when the gas engine cut's out they use the electric motor to bring the boat back to shore .. cheaper than a remote start at least

MH$$$ have one also but if anyone has not been there the prices have jumped like they were made of oil [X(]

Thinking the electric starter for a traxas would be out of luck cranking over a zenoah.

I read about that tragic accident at Lake Trashmore in VaBeach. Was all over the local news. Result was the city closed the lake for hobby boaters indefinately. That guy had no business wading out there to retrieve his boat. The water was still frigid and he could not swim. When he stepped into the abyss (drop off of the bottom) he drowned. An experienced swimmer would have made it. But still it was a freak accident.
