Ya,that is what I am afraid of also. The H9 260's (about the same size) have been coming in very lite. My guess though is this will at least +1 pounds and can make a big difference for 3D if using something in the 18 to 20 pound thrust range.
I cant find any info on the 77"Extra...thinking that they would be similar? [&:]

STG, I have one of the CGP 77" Extras still in the box-- what do you want to know? It is certainly one of the nicest ARF's that I have seen. I haven't weighed all components yet but it seems to be built very light.
I have a ZDZ-40 that I am thinking would be just perfect for it!

Here is one that won't be beat for a while. 77 inch Extra, 1326 sq. in. wing area, 10lb. 4oz. AUW. Powered by a 3W 28i. Balistic power and is the sweetest flying plane going. Joe

RE: 77" Yak 54 ARF --Goldberg
Ok, I weighed all components this evening. All measurements <except hardware> were done with the parts out of the plastic bags (duh!). This was done on a 35 lb postal scale so it should be fairly accurate:
Fuselage (including plastic canopy, rudder, cowl and wheel-pants): 62.7 oz
Wings (total left and right; including ailerons): 39.9 oz
Horizontal stabs (both left and right; including elevators): 8.8 oz
Hardware package (still in bags: hinges, tank, engine-mount, bolts, wing and stab tubes, etc.): 21.8 oz
Landing gear (stock aluminum): 8.6 oz
For a total weight (if my math is correct) of: 141.8 oz (8.9 lbs)
Just for kicks, I threw on my ZDZ-40 (including ignition, pitts muffler, 20x10 wood prop, 3" TruTurn spinner): ~4lbs
So, assuming that you went with the minimum of 5 servos (2oz x 5 = 10oz) + RX (2oz) + LiIon batteries (???): ~2lbs (really guessing here)
Ok, I am going out on a limb here, but this would put the "real" flying weight at about 15 lbs. I guess that with a glow engine you could come out at the specified weight of 13 - 14 lbs. Of course, one could replace some of the parts (tube, gear, some hardware) with carbon-fiber and get the weight down a bit.
If you are really interested in double-checking my math (you probably should ) I can post the individual weights for each component. I just added-up the major pieces for the first set of numbers above.
The ARF itself is very nicely done. Already drilled for "hinge-point" type hinges (no CA here!) and the ailerons are 4" wide (and the wings are built for two servos each-- they really intended a 3D airframe). Fuselage has a rudder-tray already installed that can also accept two servos (for dual pull-pull)-- and the pull-pull exits have a piece of tubing already installed!

RE: 77" Yak 54 ARF Goldberg
I need a new cowl for my Goldberg 77" Yak 54 ARF. My original one is developing cracks and fractures. I'm afraid it isn't going to hold up too much longer. Anyone out there have an extra to spare? Would appreciate any/all leads towards finding a new one. I am flying mine with a ST 3250 ( which has finally given out, not to my suprise) and I am upgrading to an O.S. 3500 BGX-1. The Chinese ST 3250 has really been a dissapointment to me since I have been a lifelong ST fan. It just has not held up that well. Mostly head bolts not staying tight and blown head gaskets. Getting off the subject here so I will ask again. Any one have a cowl for this model??? I will pay your price in quick fashion. You can reply to this post or directly to my contact info given below.
