questions
Hello. I recently purchased a Traxxas Revo 3.3. . I just have a couple questions regarding my new truck.
1) I was looking through that black and white booklet "What do I do when my model breaks". What is the difference between the Multi Shaft and the IPS shaft?
2) Will it afect how you tune the LSN when the shut off valve is moved before doing the pinch test? I think mine got moved during cleaning.
3) I built a quick ramp for my Revo out of plywood. It wasn't curved, it was flat. The edge of the ramp was only about 8 inches high. After running it for that day I noticed that there was some marks of red on the front skidplate ( the color of the wood.) I pushed down on the rollbar and seen it was bottoming out. What can I do to stop this?
I just e-mailed Traxxas 2 days ago and they still haven't got back to me.
THANK YOU

RE: questions
1. IPS shaft is generally for EZ start and pull start Traxxas models, while the Multi shaft is generally for bump starting and non-traxxas models.
2. If you are talking about the red clip, just take it off. Use your fingers to do the pinch test, do it 1-2 inches from the carb. You will get more consistent "pinches" with your fingers.
3. Just shoulds like the front is bottoming out, which is okay. When you are going up the ramp, generally it will preload some. You can look at stiffer springs and high weight oil to stop that. Just remember you want the truck to bottom out before the springs.

RE: questions
I can only give ya answers to numbers 2 and 3:
2. Well it wont really affect the LSN setting per say, but it will "lean" out the engine because whenever u do the pinch test like that, u are starving it of fuel....
3. Like one of the others has already eluded to, u can help "slow-down" the bottoming out by adding stiffer springs and putting a little bit thicker shock oil in it. I did this to my Revo 3.3 I put the stiffest springs traxxas has on both the front and rear and it seems to definately help the bottoming out effect especially in the rear, but in the front as well...

As for the bottoming out there is a little screw like thing on the shock and you can tighten that to stiffen the suspension (circled in yellow)
very helpful
