CINCINNATI JETS
There is only about 6 weeks left until the first annual Cincinnati Jets "Thunder in the Sky" jet meet. We will be flying for three days (July 25-27) at the Hook Field Airport in Middletown, Ohio. We are flying from the taxiway which is 47' x 6000' with a very large pit area for the pilots. The runway extends Northeast x Southwest which typically allows for winds directly down the runway here Cincinnati.
We will provide pizza on Friday night and the grills will be going for dinner on Saturday night. We have quite a few prizes to give away at the dinner on Saturday night that have been provided by our sponsors including Horizon Hobby, Details4Scale, Jetcat turbines, Wren USA turbines, AMT USA turbines, TamJets, our local hobby shop Hamilton Hobbies and B&B Aero. You have a chance to win a complete DX-7 radio, one of Tam's EDF F-16's, and more.
There will be no pre-registration and registration at the event will be only $30.00 which includes dinner on both Friday and Saturday and 10 gallons of kerosene free to each pilot (provided by B&B Aero at Hook Field). Bring your own oil, it will not be premixed!! We also have overnight plane storage in a locked hanger so everyone can leave their planes assembled, and plenty of RV parking. You can start arriving on Thursday night and we will start flying at 8:00 am Friday.
The flyer for the event is attached in the jet events section here on RCU if you need additional information. You may also contact either myself or Bob Belluomini and our phone numbers are listed on the flyer. We look forward to seeing everyone there...Gary

Rich, I think Bob is making the trip to PA this weekend. We spoke today and I may try to come as well. Not sure yet? We hope you guys can make it down for the Cincinnati meet and look forward to seeing you all there. Bring Dominick with you!! We want to see all of those new planes.
We are glad to see all of the responses from so many guys. I think everyone will have a good time.
Lewis, any idea how many guys will make it from your area? Gary

Hi Guys. I wish I could come but I Can't do it. I will be here in Rochester for our Airshow. We have the Thunderbirds and a host of other awesome acts as well as ground displays. I was asked to display my jets next to the Thunderbirds jets!! I get free admission and special on airport parking. Last time the Blues were here they let guys (modelers) sit in some F-18's!!!!! You also get to mingle with all the fighter jocks since that is where the models are displayed. Then it's off to the Liberty Bell Jet Rally. I hope to see you guys at one of these events. Come to OCTUTBOFEST this weekend if you can.

Dom what a lame excuse for not attending our event!
Who would want the chance to share airspace with the T-Birds and even the chance to sit in the seat??
See you Saturday!
Bob

We have pilots coming from MO, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Ohio and NY
Our event is shaping up very well. Gary and I expect close to 50 pilots.
Please let me know if there is anything you need and I will do my best to accommodate you!
There are electrical hookups for the RV guys. First come first served.
We have a great site and the airport management and city of Middletown are 100% behind this event and have a bunch of great sponsors!

Patrick, that is great that you guys are all coming. There should be plenty of RV parking for anyone coming in the area where the electricity is located. It is off to the side from where we will be flying but we will have plenty of transportation vehicles back and forth. For anyone that does not need electric there is plenty of room right at the flying site.
There are some above ground water spickets but I don't know if they will work for RV's and they are further away so we would need a really long hose!! The best solution is to fill your RV with water before you come probably but if absolutely needed we may be able to make something work.
In the next day or so I will be posting some directions from the hotel and I-75 to Hook field along with some great pictures of the flying site at the airport.
