I have been running a RC10T4 brushlessand lipo battery equiped, and am thinking of selling and getting a GT2. How often are people rebuildign nitro motors? just trying to get some info before making final choice.

It depends how you drive it. I have both cars you mentioned and I like the speed of the t4 brushless. Most of the rebuilding is maintence cleaning. Don't get it super dirty and always clean the airfilter you will have a long motor life. If you start porting and polishing for performance again this will keep you busy. Remember it comes down to where are you going to use it and and who are you going to use it with. If you do not know much about nitro motors you will want more refrence material to read so you don't have first day heart break. Anyone can learn nitro just be perpared in advance.

It just maybe a case of is the grass greener. I want nitro for the fact a lot of people at the track say it is better. I like the noise and tuning of the nitro. I love the brushless ease but hate the charging time.

How about keep the T4 and then save up for the GT2? It might be more expensive that way, but when you just want to plug and play you'll have the other option too.

Best of both worlds.

You will hate the nitro engine cooling down period too. Frequent temping to watch over heat. I am not going to sway you either way I have several of both. I would look for a cheap used nitro and test the waters that way. You can get an rc10gt for cheap. And fall back on your t4.
