Default How do you guys clean your RC's?

How do you guys clean your RC's? I like using nitro force from dynamite, but at $10-$15/shipped off the interweb and $20 in gas to drive to my closest hobby shop its gets to expensive.

I generally use WD-40 and HPI parts cleaner along with an air compressor.

Yeah WD-40 does leave a residue. I still use it sometimes because it is powerful and penetrates joints well.

A mix of alcohol and windex, 50/50. Clean it, let things dry then compress the heck out of the car. Usually leaves it sclean enough for me...

Simple green and a tiny bit of brake parts cleaner. Followed by lots of air. Unlimited supply from my air compressor. Cheaper, and more pressure than the little cans of compressed air.

I just blast mine with a 35psi air jet from my compressor, and then wipe the major stuff/liquids off with paper towels. Keeps it clean enough to not break due to dirt :P. It's by no means show-truck clean, tho...

Automotive carb cleaner , air compressor , WD-40 , air compressor . Works great . WD-40 does leave a residue but it makes cleaning the dirt and mud off easier after the following race day .

ive heard that:
2 pts denatured alch.
1.5 pts simple green
1 "shot" of WD-40 (re-oil the metal parts so they don't rust)
makes a good cleaner especally for nitro cars, its strong but yet gentle enough not to remove anodizing from the metals and other surfaces[8D]
