The design of the Axial axles is superior to that of the TLT. They come w/ lockers, they provide a better turning radius, they are wider and don't require wideners, they are available for sale separately (no need to purchase the entire kit like the TLT), the axles shafts are much stronger, the axles C's are replaceable, they have fewer square edges to catch on the rocks, and most importantly the Axials haven't been discontinued.
Like everything else, technology marches on. In that march the star performers of yesterday are surpassed by the star performers of today and so the cycle continues.
