crashed Edge 540, sensor switch no good
Crashed and compleatly smashed my Cermark 27% Edge 540 due to failed Sensor Switch, so much for failing safe.
One of the 3 joints that hold the boards together came apart, due to vibration, this caused the voltage to drop to 3v intermittantly.
The day before was flying ok then without warning it's broken.
The Spektrum RX shut down and restarted a couple of times before it hit the ground. bummer
need a new plane now, looking at the Extreme Flight Yak 54- 74"

RE: crashed Edge 540, sensor switch no good
all the servos are ok apart from the throttle, it has no top on it now, the carb came off the engine but I can fix that.
The rx has gone away for testing as I thought it was to blame for the crash, I have had a problem with a Spektrum module failing in the past, lucky not to loose a model that time.
back on 35Meg for a while now..

RE: crashed Edge 540, sensor switch no good
It's the "Powerbox Sensor Switch" I think it needs to be stuck together inside, if I got another one I would take it apart and fill the gap between the boards with 30min epoxy, that should hold it together if there is excessive vibration.
I did have a problem with the engine to start with which broke 2 of it's mounting lugs, it was an SPE 40cc gas.
I think this vibration has caused the switch to fail, though it should fail safe, unless it will only do that if one of the components inside goes down and not actually come apart, it was a good switch till this happend, gave me 5.9 volts and 5 amp to the servos with 2 Lipos
running together, if one fails you still have power.
Don't want to put you off using one.
