450 V2 running hot, surging...
Crashed my 450 about 3 weeks ago and rebuilt it. Now when I run it, the engine and speed controller get blazing hot, and eventually quits. It is also surging big time. The main gear is not to tight and there doesn't seem to be any binding (in fact I've always run my rotor belt on the loose side, as it is now). The engine has about 200+ flights, do you think it might be going bad? The speed control is fairly new so I do not think that is the problem. Any help appreciated.

Forgot to mention that it also sometimes makes a loud whinning noise....

I can't say from experience, since I'm just now buying a T-wrecks , but is it possible the pinion is loose on the motor shaft? Seems like it might be related - ?

I was going to say the same thing, pinion gear slipping on the motor shaft. Same thing happened to me with exactly the same results but you said it is tight so the only other thing I can think of is maybe a slipping one way bearing?
