G26 Quits on Landings
Several people I fly with are long time G26 users and many having problems with engine quitting on low idle when they go to land.
I recently started first time use of new G26 and through the first 30 or so flights I never had this problem and now I 'joined the club' and mine is quitting too!
I've heard that this is common issue but have not found much on it in the forum other than some reference to the insulator block cracking with some after market replacements discussed.
Can anyone shed some light on this issue for me or point me in the right sirection so I can solve this issue and help my buddies who have been wrestling withthis issue for a long time. Thx/

Here is a potential solution that worked for me.
Check your prop. It may be out of balance. On low idle the vibration factor is more pronounced, more so when you are on a final approach landing (rather than in the pits running it up). The vibration will allow your throttle arm which is connected via nyrod or wire(therefore somewhat stiff) to open and close quickly (at low idle on final approach it wouldn't take more than a mm or so of movement to inadvertently shut off the engine prematurely.)
This problem plagued a me for a month. I became reaaaaal proficient at dead stick landings though. I rebalanced the prop, the vibration subsided to a more reasonable level, and my dead sticks landings became a good story.

When I got my G26 it came with a extra insulater an I wondered why -now we know. I had trouble starting mine ,it would not draw fuel. Horizon put on a new carb. insulator and it is OK now, but it has very little time on it,so I'll have to watch it.

Check Ralph at RC Ignitions for one of his thinner and much stronger carb rotator/isolator blocks which will make your throttle linkage a straight shot affair and will outlast your engine.
