help with brillelli 36gt
Just got the engine back. Brand new ring and ignition. Have run 3 tanks of fuel through it, about 40 mins of run time. Here is the problem. I cannot get the engine to put out any power. It seems to be running rich however, I have tried to lean it out with the needle valves and it doesn't get any better. Don't want to lean anymore, I know the engine can put out good power because as it gets to the end of a tank of fuel, the rpms pick up immensely as it leans out. With the Xoar 20x8, I can only get about 5000 rpms at WOT. As the motor leans out at the end of a tank of gas, the rpms hit 6400 - 6500 which is were it should be normally at WOT. Running 40:1 for now. Any suggestions?

Where are your needles at? Xoar props really suck some rpms.
You should go lean and until the rpms peak and then go down. Then back off of peak around 100 rpms or so.

I have an 18x8 Xoar that I'll try tomorrow. Don't know how much leaner I can go. The starting setting is only 1 and 3/4. Guess I will give it a shot.

RE: help with brillelli 36gt
I played with the needles today and what an improvement. With an Xoar 18x8, 7600 rpms and with a Xoar 20x8, 6500 rpms. My fuel tank mount was loose and it was causing foaming of the fuel which contributed to the problem. Can't wait to go fly.
