Thank you to a great jet guy.
A few weeks ago I was tasked with giving a presentation of a new content distribution system that the school I am working for is going to be using. I could not find any really good HD content to demo so I put a call out to SDCrashmaster (Paul) for a copy of his CA Jets 08 movie in full HD. I explained what it was for and he agreed to send me a copy via my FTP site. After he spent several hours uploading the video to me I had a copy of it. I had our resident video GURUS convert it from MOV to WMV HD, which is the format I have to use. The time for the presentation came last week and I had the monitors setup, A 57, a 46, and two 52" HD 1080p monitors. I started out with about 10 minutes of various content across the 4 monitors and then 1 by 1 they all switched to the CA Jets 08 movie. The 46" and the 57" monitors were playing it at the same time on different sides of the room but the two 52" monitors which were side by side had the movie spanned across them so it was like 1 big 104" screen of JETS. I have to say during the other content that was playing people were chatting and asking questions about the system but the minute the jet video was playing across the two 52" monitors all quesitons stopped. Everyone was amazed at the capability of the monitors and the capability of the jets on the screen. The presentation was a huge success and my director came up later that afternoon and congratulated me on an excellent presentation, especially my content selection.
So I just wanted to say THANK YOU to SDCrashmaster for his help. He is the perfect example of what this hobby is all about. I asked him for help and he responded without hesitation to provide me with what I needed.
Patrick.

Excellent,
Glad to hear that worked out for you Patrick.
In addition to a successful presentation of your new system, I'm happy of the exposure to a few who may have been unaware of this coolest facet of model aviation.
At 2.6 GB, it's definitely the largest file upload I've ever attempted :-)
Happy to have played a part.
Paul

Thats a great story Patrick. Paul is amazing and all of us out here are so very lucky to have him. Not only does he make amazing videos, but he will drive 3 hours each way just so we can watch his masterpiece's on an HD projector in the middle of nowhere when the guy's are all getting together to fly for the weekend. He's one of the bro's, and looked up to by all of us at the same time. His skills go so way beyond our hobby, still he spends countless hours putting things together for us just for the love of it all. I'm so glad that you got a taste of him way out there, because I was beginning to think we were keeping him all to ourselves. Congrats again Patrick, and a big "You da Man" to Paul Reese for being who he is.
Very cool,
Dave

Yes Matt.
Although the cloud cover forced them into a low show on Sat., which is the big shoot day on tarmac.
The cover broke for the amazing Mibo A-10 show (and other RC stuff) right afterwords, and was fantastic lighting wise.
But for the Blues, it was far less than spectacular...the sky that is. The Blues were fantastic.
Miramar is always a problem lighting wise, as you must be facing to the south when shooting, and everything is horribly backlit throughout most of the sequences.
Remove the sun, with white cloud cover, and its' even worse.
One of the highlights of this years show was the surprise Fry's 747 low pass in the late, late afternoon (escorted by the 4 Fry's L-39's). And I do mean low. Microsoft Flight Simulator–with crashing disabled–kind of low :-)
I posted a shot below that someone put on the web. Sorry so huge.
But yes, the Blues were back and it was great, as always.
