RE: FEJ f-16 comparison???
Hi Jonboy
Unfornetely the legitimate question you are asking as many times raised very tension posts in RCU
Hope that this thread does not open another SM vs FEJ war. This is just my opinion because I have both a FEJ and a SM F16 1/8. Actually I just have sold the FEJ, but I have built both.
I bought my SM before I bought the FEJ and I thought the SM had to be better because it cost me at the time 1000USD more than the FEJ[:@]. When I received the FEJ F16 I was desperately looking for the 1000USD difference and guess what, there was not a diference worth that money. In fact if you ask me, I prefer the FEJ, because it as a cleaner job on the inside, cleaner cuts on the ply and nicer work on the FG. The moulds are pretty much the same, but what really is annoyng on the SM kit is the lack of instalation of gear doors and in the fuse moulds the gear doors lips DO NOT EXIST.
If you look at the SM site, you will see that Anton as already droped the prices in this plane.
The FEJ plane had already the gear and doors installed and the mould as the lips that are very usefull to stop the doors when they cloese. On the other hand, I had a leaking cilinder that was replaced. Both planes still flying, but guess what, the buyer had both to choose and he chose the FEJ[:@]. So, still have my SM.
Generally speaking both planes are very similar but the gear doors lips really make the difference in both building and reliability. The SM cockpit is more detailed
I can't speak for the TAM, because I never had one...
If you need detail pictures let me know.
Best regards
Nuno
