Budget 150???
Looking for something along the lines of the DL 100 in a 150 size. I am pretty impressed with the DL and have had a few "other brands" of 50 size engines, and refuse to pay what a DA is costing for a two cylinder hotted up industrial engine. I can buy a pretty good second hand car for the cost of one of those, and there is far more bang for the buck and technology involved in a car.
Before all the smart asses get on here telling me to fly a car engine, Don't bother. You won't convince me that a DA 150 is worth nearly 5K, regardless of your reasoning. I can buy a brand new ride on mower for less. Its a captured market and I won't be a sheep.

Wiz,
check out the RCGF 150, you won't regret it. It's stronger than a DA also.

You guys have me confused, I looked at the RCGF 150 and it said $1800, I also checked Cxxxf and they have the DA150 listed at $1300, how do you get nearly $5000?

RE: Budget 150???
Australian exchange rates and sales amounts. Everything in Australia is taxed a lot heavier than here and even with a lower dollar value on their end costs a lot more in our dollars. Been there, experienced that. When I was last there the exchage rate should have indicated that everything I bought would have been 15% less but in reality cost about 30% more! Australia is extremely expensive! They go stark raving nuts when they come here and see how much cheaper our stuff is to buy

RE: Budget 150???
Yep - ya got that in one
We have less buying power (About 10,000 RC flyers in total in the whole country). 23 million people spread over about the same land size as the lower 48 (320 million) and Mainland China (1.X Billion). We pay 10% GST on everything and big transport costs.
Having said that- The RCGF 150 on my site is the equivalent of US$1270 compared to the market price in the US of US$1250 - not bad considering the GST is included in that price
Oh - and I have kept stocks of all sizes for months - (Sorry Henry)

last time I inquired about the DA was three weeks ago. if I include exhuast system in the price (coz we need them) I was looking at AUD$4750. Now I'm sure they are a nice engine, but I doubt very much they are THAT nice. I can buy a pretty good ride on mower for that sort of money, and there would be a lot more R&D and designing go into that than a DA 150. I do understand economy's of scale, but gee.....certainly more than I am prepared to pay.
Any way, I think at this stage The RCGS is looking good. less than half the cost and from all reports just as good. well, as good as I require, as I aint no 3D Guru.

We fly the 150cc Composite Sukhoi listed on my web page with the RCGF 150 - it will pull out of a hover just as fast as the competition does
Yep - if we could get "Certain brands" in Oz for the price of some of the other engines, I would probably never have looked at other brands - glad I did look around though - I have found some Great engines in the process. (Yep - saw some "not so good" ones too)

RE: Budget 150???
Like when the plug was broke in the crash. Did one like that with a 6.4 Brison, which also bent the crank.... Couldn't even tell it had been crashed other than that. Still looks new to this day even with the broken fin. Which reinforces my point. If an engine has broken fins on a cylinder it was likely dropped or crashed and personally I would have a very difficult time believing otherwise. Then again, I'm a self made skeptic. Long time ago I believed most everyone, but that was a very long time ago.
