Radiocraft 330LX flew great!!!
I noticed the cowl in the photos is not the Stans Fibertec cowl that originally came with the Radiocraft Stans are a greenish color and are really of great qualilty , not to say yours arent. I just ordered a cowl from Stans for this bird i must say it is one of the best flying planes i have ever owned . I paid 1200 plus shipping for mine from the original owners of radiocraft the Taylors. It is well worth the money at Bralex price. Just make sure it is not one of the ones made that had defective wing tubes in the wings . A modification was given to strenthen the tube and i think they were made sometime around the early part of 2001 0r 2003 not for sure when. It is shame the Harry is no longer in busines but i have heard he is moving over seas to open another company in the Phillipines. Hope this info helps.

The cowl
The plane pictured is my model. Yes, this one does have a different cowl which happens to have a smooth gel coat like finish. Another model that I have here for a local pilot, has the other type cowl that Bruce (BAS) was referring to. The wing modification should be contained with all the models (see picture #3). It involves a "U" shaped piece of ply that spans between the phenolic tube and the next outer rib. All of the models included have a aluminum wing tube, that is shorter than the phelolic tube. This was more of an issue then the prior. If the plane will be flown in a 3D mode more so than pattern, my advise would be to buy a CF wing tube that spans the full length of the phenolic tube. With this tube in place, there are no further wing or "wing tube" issues. To the best of my knowledge based on first hand info from the high end pilots I know who fly this airplane, this is the only significant modification that needs to be made.
I'm not sure that any replacement cowls are available NOS. I am sure that I can find out who produced the originals for replacement purposes.
