beginner looking at hpi firestorm? What do you think of this car? + tips for beginners.
ok so im new to nitro rc cars and after much long researching i have chosen the hpi firestorm with the nitro starter kit. Does anyone have this car? and if so what do you think of it?
also i have few more questions [:-]:
How much does the fuel cost and how long does it last?
how often does the engine need replacing?(i hope to never replace the engine)
how fast does it go?
how durable is it?
How do i start it...?
What is a glow plug for?
What are some other tips for beginners to nitro rc cars?
thanks all

1. Fuel can be anywhere from $20-$50+ depending on mostly nitro content.
2. An engine that is well taken care of should last atleast 5 gallons of fuel.
3. Depends on many variables. I don't know about the Firestorm specifically.
4. Most models from reputable companies are very durable. That, however, doesn't mean that things won't break/wear.
5. If you have a pullstart. Prime the engine with fuel by taking off the pressure line from the pipe and blowing into it until fuel reaches the carb. Attach the glow ignitor to the plug and yank the pull start.
6. A glow plug aids in combustion. The methanol in the fuel reacts with the platinum in the plug and combusts.

There's not enough information to say in your specific case. 5 gallons may be a few YEARS worth for some and maybe only a couple months for others.
