What would you do if you own a RC company?
what would you do if you own a RC company like Losi or HPI??
I guess you're going to have the best of the best in terms of RC cars...or maybe have something that no body has??I mean personally for yourself..
If I'd own Losi, I will have in my RC collection all the cars in the lineup with all the upgrades available.

Not always, I think a good range of cars is a better idea than just having the 1 best one. Something unique is always nice but you're marketing has to be spot on.
It's just like any other company out there. Always try to provide what the market demands and do it right with high quality. Not to pick on anyone or a company but how many repeat customers do companies like exceed have compared to Traxxas, HPI, Losi, Tamiya... etc.

If I owned Losi, I would do exactly what they are doing now! Release RTR's for the bashing crowd to fund R&D for their race models. So when the people who bought Losi rtr's step up to newer vehicles, they would buy the xxxt instead of the t4, xxxcr instead of the b4, 8ight 2.0 over the rc8 and 8t 2.0 over the rc8t.
I would also want to be the brand that has a good reputation at the track- i.e. sponsoring a bunch of events, factory drivers always going to different tracks and helping people out, etc.

It's true, most people with a bad experience will NOT do business with you again. To be successful you need to be active in the RC community and roll out cars that either represent a huge bang for the buck or are on the cutting edge of technology and materials. Additionally customer service has to be top notch or people's frustrations will be aired on forums like this one, you rarely hear about great experiences and always hear about the bad.
Personally if I owned a RC company I'd be more concerned about success than my personal vehicles however I would be active in racing and sponsorships to show off the latest and greatest hardware. It's not the same game it was 20 years ago. When I got into this hobby cars were mostly 2wd buggies and pan cars, fairly basic being either direct drive or a three gear transmission. Cars like Custom Works and the AYK Radiant while simple by today's standards were state of the art. Fast forward 20 years and look at something like the Traxxas Summit or even the HPI Savage, it takes serious engineering and a team of designers to roll out trucks like these. People bash Traxxas but they started out as a company geared toward entry level RTRs and eventually launched some of the most successful trucks ever. they must be doing something right.

I know if I were a big company like HPI, I would begin desgining and R&D for a 5th scale TVP 4WD shaft driven gasser Savage! (Sorry, I am absolutly obsessesd with seeing a 5ths scale TVP gasser Savage coming into the market. And I dont care, I would shell out $2000USD for one! )

I would hire someone to run and expand the business, invest money in other companies, and be a combination of Travis Pastrana and Iron Man.
