Velox manual says to balance with the gear up..
I usually balance my models upside down and with the UAT full and gear down.. The manual for the Velox (small one) says to balance the model with the gear up[X(] Any Velox owners out there that have their jets flying nice balance it with the gear up? And also balanced the jet right side up? Maybe I will use the plumb bob method on this model....
Thanks....
Thanks....

Greenacre,
You can make a quick and easy balancing fixture with a sheet of 1/8" plywood, here is the one I made for my FB Rafale
Just measure the distance between the front and rear spars, drill holes and mark the location of your CG point and drill holes.

Great Idea! How is the 1/8" plywood held in? I think I get it! There are holes in the plywood for the main wing spar and also the anti-rotation pin.?

If the CG is calibrated when the gear is up it will, of course, shift forward if the nose gear travels forward during extension, and that's no big deal.
Basically it's safest to figure the CG in the most rearward-biased (worst case, whether that is gear up or down for the particular model) condition so that later, any changes to the configuration will move toward a more conservative forward CG.
Perhaps that explains the Velox manual regarding CG? Again, I don't know which way your gear retracts.....
I hope this helped??
