.18 cxp engine
I just bought my son a buggy with a .18 cxp engine on the internet when i got it it was not tuned correctly i made the mistake of messing with all three adjustment screws does antone know the factory settings for this engine

This is not a very good engine, even for an RTR engine. Several faults that could come straight ouf of the factory.
As far as your problems, lets try to diagnose it first.
Since you do not know factory setting, do this: turn the HSN and LSN needles out by 1/2 turn richer. Set the idle setscrew so that the carb is only open b half a milimeter.
Fire it up. Does it run away? If it does, turn out the HSN and LSN richer by another half turn.Heep doing this until the engine can idle without running away at idle.
Now, tune by sound. Watch this vid on tuning and pay close attention to what good ounds and bad sounds sound like. Also, watch how much smoke is coming out of the exhaust in this vid.

Now, knowing what the good and bas sounds are, and also what a good smoke trail is like, tune your engine accordingly.
