Default question that budbud will know the answer to

i want to make my savage x longer in length. i plan on using savage xl chassis plate to do this. is there anything i'll need besides the plates themselves and the xl center dogbones?

am I going to need xl drive cups in my savage 25 diffs to accept the thicker xl dogbones and extended and xl axels. Am I going to have to change drive cups in the tranny to convert my .25 to xl

The center bones are the same thickness so, no, you don't need to replace your drive cups. If you want to go Xl width though, you will need XL axles, XL bones, and XL diff cups.

You dont need XL dog bones, or XL diffs. The price of bones are cheaper then XL ones and to be honest they all twist at some point. I have 4 SS dogbones, 1/2" extended hex hubs (same as XL width), and axles meant for hex adapters that I'll part with. You can then use your existing diffs and dont need to buy the XL diffs. To get the length you only need the TVP chassis plates ($18 or less on ebay) and the center bones ($6 est.) again also on ebay.

Here is a picture of what I have that will give you XL width for cheaper with upgraded wheel hubs:
All brand new, just mounted for test fitting on my Flux build.
