Default gasser fuel

Can anyone tell me what the advantages if any of using Coleman fuel ( white gas ? ) verses regular gas from the pumps? I here that gas from the pumps have methanol in them and that isn't good for the gaskets and O rings.

Default RE: gasser fuel

This has been argued many times here in the forums. Some people say they use it with no problems, but one shouldn't do so. The bottom line and final answer is, check what fuel octane your engine manufacturer recommends. It will be 87 plus. Coleman fuel is around 50 to 60; nowhere near good enough.
