RE: DL carb to zenoah 62
The HDA48 series Walbro has been used on G62s for 22 YEARS...Why change what works perfectly ?
FWIW, any Walbro with the same bolt spacing will work, some worse, none better..

I believe the small carb would give it higher air speed at lower rev's to improve mid range power for 3D style flying

RE: DL carb to zenoah 62
it pulls over 8200 with 22-10 prop with a DL50 walbro carb with lots of grunt of the bottom and perfect idle.I was just wondering if any body else use this combination.

You're getting 8200RPM with a stock muffler and 22-10 prop on a G62? [X(]
Wanna sell it?
I'd say you probably should stop right there. Thats the most powerful G62 on the planet. Don't screw up a good thing. Fly it!!

Ohhhhh. Well nevermind then. I'm not as impressed as I was earlier.
I assumed when you said it was a stock exhaust that the internals were also stock. A bone-stock G62 turning those kinds of RPM's would be a keeper for sure.
Now that you revealed the internal mods, I'm feeling kinda let down.... Had my chest all puffed up about a stock 62 that was a hot-rod right outta the box.... [] You're a dirty tease!! [>:]

"it's lost a lot of weight even back side of crank is gone."
Not saying it can't be done, but what about the rear bearing ?
The front half of a G62 case is not long enough to completley use another beariing, about 1/3 sticks out if you replace the seal with another bearing...And two 6202 bearings separated by a snap ring aren't much in the way of crank support....
Half the counterweight is gone...Balance ?
What keeps the big end bearing from sliding out ? Extra piece in the case ?
Inquiring minds want to know...
Stock muffler, wood prop...A stock G62 muffler takes away about 400-500 rpm...Think what it woudl do on a tuned pipe !!! ZENZILLA

Which muffler-they had two different ones. The chainsaw style is more restrictive while the angled two stack one is entirely open with the exhaust stacks traveling way up inside the chamber near the top of the muffler. Mine has the two stack muffler and it is fairly quiet compared to aftermarket types. My brand new 62 on the first tank was turning a ProZinger[:'(]22x8 at 7500rpms. I guess with a side dump style like an Abell or Bisson it would be closer to 8000 with that prop.
