Just got in a new SPE 43cc and I need to make a stand to break it in on. Found one online for $125.00 but thats just crazy, I am thinking some nice 2x4's and such>>

If you have a good stand to use lets see those pics and or plans.. Weekend looks crappy here so its a good time to break this baby in...

3/8"" aluminum plate and 1-1/2" angle iron. You can brainstorm infinite possibilities from there.

Make sure the mounting surface is very flat and your stand can absorb vibrations well, the SPE 43 is prone to breaking mounting ears while running on test stands.

A few pcs of scrap plywood and one pc of hardwood and you are ready to go.

Here is one I threw together one afternoon with some 1x's and 2x's and ofcourse screws. I used it for my 62cc and it worked great.

I made one out of a sawhorse. I added two pieces of 2x4 to the end then used 3/4" ply with lots of glue and screws. Be carefull, my sawhorse is about 5' long. Still a 41 cc engine will pull it over at full throttle.

What the hey?! Do you always take a piece of ply and a couple "C" clamps out to the local highway guard rail to test run your engines?

LOL, Nah, that's just the little engine set up. The bigger ones I mount to the front of my riding lawn mower to get a more accurate thrust test.
