Do you have a fire extinguisher at home?
More a safety reminder than a poll.. We have plenty of inflammable materials at home, like fuel, paints, batteries etc... so you better buy one in case of answering "no" !!!

Yes I do...Although it is really too small for my current needs...Sure, it would put out a small kitchen grease fire but with any fire more serious than that I would be in trouble...My turbine extiguisher is not very accessable within my home..
Enrique...Thanks for bringing this up for discussion as we all could use a reminder such as this every now and then...

for me at least, i saved more on my home owners insurance then the cost of an extinguisher, i don't see why anyone wouldn't have one just for that cost savings. it's the gift that keeps on giving every year when i have to pay the premiums.

Got 2 - 1 in my workshop and 1 in the garage (within steps of the kitchen)
Even showed both my kids how to use them in case they decide to do something stupid when my wife and I are out.
Plus I have 2 for the jets that are kept in my trailer.

One dry chemical extinguisher in the kitchen, one at the garage door entry, one in each outdoor workshop (Halon), One where I store my kerosene in the garage (CO2 that I take with me to the field). I have two in my boat. One very small Halon in each car. When you need them you need them NOW or sooner. And it's a good idea to check them for charge, working condition of the delivery and handle areas, and for possible damage or erosion each couple months (or more often when you can). I'm not a fireman, but I spend my working life in metal tubes high above the ground, hence the fire paranoia that's been drilled into me over the years.

Had one by the door in the building room and one in the garage, by the door again.
Those were both powder, Had a CO2 for the turbine of course.
