RTL Fastners is where I get all my stock. I'd be careful about "cheap". I've bought some "cheap" hardware before and they are made out of soft metal that usually causes the head to break off and you get so frustrated with them you end up tossing them in the trash. Spend the money and get the RTL Standard and Metric combination. It'll cost you a $200 to start with but I've been using mine for over 5 years now and you never have to worry about having what you need when you need it.

Thanks guys. I usually use Dubro's stuff. Never had a problem with it. Just expensive. I seen an ad for RTL while visiting the Gas engine forum and I went and checked their site out. Just placed a $50.00 order.

I will 2nd the RTL purchase. I have a supply of about every size and extras of what i use most. They even have a nice supply of nylon hardware. The best item for sure is thier 9/16 servo screws with hex heads-you'll never use another factory servo screw again. Order them by the hundred. Order them if thats all you order. Hate to plug them this much but if you build alot or like quality in what you build- you can go wrong.

Servo screws with hex heads or Allen hex sockets? Big difference you know.

I like the made in the USA thing with Dubro. I just wish they would sell some of the smaller stuff in larger quanities so we could save some money. All my horns, ball links, threaded rod etc. are Dubro.

We have a local hardware company that supplies the local aircraft repair shops. I usually buy in bulk from them. They have order sizes they do not normally stock such as counter sunk head brass no. 2 screws and nuts when I needed them. Special order mins are only 100 count; however most of the 4-40 and large sizes they stock in a variety of heads and finishes. All their stock items are aircraft grade so you'll know they are good stuff and if you have a desire to use saftey wire they have the predrilled screws.

You can go to the local hardware store and order boxes of screws with 100 being the typical count.

A swap meet. Make a "grocery list" of what you want or think you will need in the future then take that list to the swap meet. There are always scads of small packs of hardware for sale, generally for pennies on the dollar.

Micro Fasteners. Going to give RTL a try real soon, my building box is getting a bit low. I always order several years worth of stuff.

Best and Cheap do not go together.

This is the source that I use. They handle everything you can think of, from washers to Anodized 7075-T6 Aluminum Socket Headed Cap screws. There products are High quality, and there prices are very good. I like to use there anodized Aluminum lock nuts to save weight.

Sure it does. You just have to shop around to get the best at the cheapest price.
