Default Torqmaster LC 12V battery.....problem

I have one of these no maintenance Torqmaster LC 12V batteries that is supposedly rechargable. I tried charging it with a 12Volt charger that has a DC output at 500MA and there is no increase in power output of the battery after being charged for 24 hours. It says "rechargble" in plane english on the side of the battery

You should charge it at a rate of 1000 or 1200 MA . One tenth of the batterys rated capacity . Give it a try. MAX H.

If this is a PB based battery, you may have let it discharge to deeply. Two of the quickest ways to ruin a Pb battery is deep discharge (below 11.7 volts on a 12 volt battery)and/or to high a charge rate (more than 0.1C). You should not charge them at more than 0.1C. As long as the charge rate is more than the self discharge rate it should charge if it is ever going to so it should have charge at the rate you used if it was at or less than 0.1C. You did not say what the capacity was so I don't know what your battery is but it is probably a 7 amphour and, if so, 0.1C would 700 milliamperes.
