NITRO Star 4.1.. Help!!
Hello, Thanks in advance for your help and In put. I have recently purchased a Nitro Star 4.1 on the Engine Exchange program through HPI. I am looking for any information that any one has on this Engine. I need to know what is a good or sugestied temp for the motor after 5 tanks of fuel? Second, I would like to know the terminolgy of leaning fuel and adding more fuel, What dose what? And finally turning the HSN cw = what? and turing it counter cw =what? Should I have to turn the LSN? And what is it functions?

Type in nitro engine tuning video on youtube.com and watch some of the videos. That is the best way to do it. Watch several of those videos and most of your questions should be answered.

Richer(counterclockwise) will make the motor run cooler. The high speed needle is usually the one that will need to be richened. I dont even own a temp gun, i like to tune by ear personally, but I guess somewhere between 220-280* should be pretty normal.

Definately go with aluminum. I dont like plastic/nylon clutch shoes at all on a big block. Too much torque for them IMO.

I am running an integy clutch setup. I know a lot of people dont like their suspension parts, but the clutch i have from them has been great so far. I only have maybe a gallon on it, but it hooks up great and looks like it should last a while. It came with a new purple flywheel, flywheel collet, aluminum shoes, and new springs. I got it off of ebay for $12 shipped. I figured they were worth a try for that, and so far im very happy. Just look around on ebay though. There are many clutch setups and different aluminum shoes for sale.

What kind of screw did you strip, and is it countersunk, or does the head stick up past the chassis? Or is it a screw for something else?

You shouldnt have much problem grinding a flathead into it and getting it out with a flathead screwdriver i wouldnt think. I would try that first.
