F1 Giant Car
Hello. What would be the best battery pack to get for this car? The one that this car came with was/is a 7.4 volt 7 cell battery pack. It does not work anymore, because I did not charge it every week/month like the directions said to. Besides...it barely even fit in the battery holder! So which battery would last the longest powering a Trinity Speed Gems motor? Also, would I be able to take the plastic "tires" off of the rim and install real ones? I will post pictures of the connector. I is not a regular hex nut/bolt. Here are some pictures:

Ummmm what brand is it? I have a feeling it is a toy car and therefor a speed gems motor would prob fry the FETs on the controller board.

It probably is a toy car, because I won it at the Fair two years ago. LOL. How much would it cost to replace all of the stock electronic parts for exceptional ones?

If you want to use the speed gems then upgrading the esc and servo wouldn't cost much but make sure the transmission will also handle the power. I get the feeling that it's plastic, not aluminum.

Your fellings are correct. It is a plastic diff. Would I be better off getting rid of it and getting a TRAXXAS Slash? Would the Slash be okay for street bashing and jumping?

Or get a Tamiya F103, it is an F1 car if that is what you are in to. The traxxas slash is a great car and working at a hobbyshop, I can tell you it is probably one of the most durable beginners electric cars.

Well the thing is so damn big it might be fun to play around with it. I would just limit the throttle to 50 percent or something so you don't break anything. On the other hand, if you can get a good dollar for it then it would help with the cost of a real hobby grade RC.
I don't have a Slash myself but it looks like a blast and have been considering one. I'm currently looking for a roller right now for the right price (already have a VXL system sitting here waiting for it). From what I hear the titan motors suck and tend to burn out quick but the truck itself is solid and with such a high clearance is the perfect basher. Not sure how it would jump with the cog so high.

RE: F1 Giant Car
I was planning on putting a Subaru WRX body on the Slash and putting proportional gold rims on it. Is this possible? And no, I am not really into the F1 look...it is just what I already had. I just wanted to see if I would be able to make something good out of a piece of crap.

It doesn't work anymore. I had to take off the plastic wrapping in order for it to fit in the "tray". Two of the leads broke off and refused to be saudered back on. So then I had to put electrical tape around it, and that is why it looks like a bomb.

I dont really need help with this car anymore...I am going to give it to somebody for $25. Thats how much I spent on it to win it in a ring toss at the OC Fair. Besides...I am getting a Slash!

RE: F1 Giant Car
yes, you can put 12mm hex touring/drift/rally tires on the slash, as the stock tires have a 12mm hex. you will want to gear up(larger pinion gear) to compensate for the smaller tires.
but really, why bother? tamiya makes some tough rally cars. unless you want to go brushless someday, then the slash converted to a rally car makes sense.

RE: F1 Giant Car
Hello, I found this giant 1/5 scale F1 Ferrari car on Yahoo Japan Auctions, price of Yen 260,000 or $2,700. I don't know anything about RC Cars but I found your post about Giant F1 car and thought you and other RC car fans might be interested in seeing the pics from the auction. I don't know the dimentions or the brand of the car. The only english in the auction texts states servo and receiver info: FUTABA S5ï¼ï¼•ï¼Ã—ï¼’ and FUTABA RS935ï¼Ã—ï¼’ and FUTABA Rï¼’ï¼ï¼“HF. The tires look like the real F1 tires.
