Default Ultra Stick 60 mods.

I have a Ultra Stick 60 and want to make the recommended modifications such as,putting tail servos in rear of fuse and reinforcing the landing gear.
Any ideas/pictures how to reinforce landing gear? How/where did you put in servos for rudder and elevator?
Thanks.

I have a GP 40 Stik, I put a servo for
my tail wheel on the belly just in front
Fin. Also reinforced the belly for Dubro
landing gear. I re inforced in front and behind
the Former at the rear of the tank. Hope that
make sence ?

Here's a couple photos to show you my Ultrastick. I cut the openings for the servos, then CA'd some scrap lite ply on the inside for the servo screws to have something to bite into. I also used 4-40 push rods as I found too much flex in the 2-56 size. I fly this plane about 50% with wheels and 50% with floats and have had no trouble with the stock landing gear setup, so no mods there.

I have 1.5 oz of lead on the tail with an thunder tiger 61 up front. That's with an 1800 MaH Nicad pack behind the servos! Interesting idea about putting the servos in the rear. I can't believe I never thought of that!

In the 5-6 years I've owned my UltraStick I've only blown the landing gear out once, and that's with it being my 1st plane after my Avistar trainer. It was a clean break that I suspect could have been a lot worse if the area around the landing gear block had been beefed up. Don't do it, IMHO.

BTW, still a great flying plane. Every time I "clean it up" to get it ready to sell I fly it "one more time", and find I cannot part with it.

I have an Electricfly P&P. On its maiden flight I noticed that the tail wheel had a lot of play, and really makes taxiiing a job. Can some one give a suggestion on how to tighten this thing up to make taxiing less a job?
