Default 3W 106 throttle hookup question

I have just bolted on my new 106 in my extra arf. It looks like I'm supposed to bolt a small steel arm to the carb and hook up a clevis to the arm.The engine is in a aeroworks 33% extra arf.Can someone show me a pic of their setup(a pic is worth a thousand words)?

Default 3W 106 throttle hookup question

Dave 763:

You can a put a 2/56 bolt in this steel arm ,but you should solder too and make a bigger hole for 4/40 for use the clevis to the arm.

Solder? Is this a common practice? It seems you would have to apply a lot of heat. I can bolt the arm on with a 4-40 bolt and locknut with only a slight enlargement of the original holes. Will silver solder stick to the carb part? it looks plated.send me a pic of your solder job. I just can't picture it!

Hey Dave the easy way is to chuck the stock arm , remove the arm from the throttle shaft and replace it with a tri gear steering arm. This gives a lot more adjustment. Nelson Hobby sells them for this purpose www.nelsonhobby.com. Use a dremel and just touch the end of the throttle shaft and the arm will come off.

Just got done browsing the nelson hobbies site and I don't see any such thing as a tri gear arm or anything else that looks like what you are talking about.

Try to find it on their website,I looked(again)! I'll call them, and see what they say.So far the best idea I have seen is a dubro steering arm.At least I've actually seen one of these!

Looks great! this is how I do it and have not had a single problem! even used good ca instead of solder !
I sometime wish that 3w would put a arm on stock -similar to what DA does but then your stuck withit in a position that may make your push rod hookup more difficult
