The piston skirt broke in the crankcase causing resistance on the crankshaft which led to the con rod failure. This sent pieces throughout the engine. The engine was replaced and will need to be broken in per the manual. The one way bearing didn't help the problem since it was missing half of the pins. The pull start and one-way bearing were also replaced with new ones. Thank you for choosing Traxxas.

You really need to understand the different parts that are used in a nitro motor.

The conrod is connected to the piston and the crankshaft is what rotates in the engine causing the conrod to move the piston up and down in the sleeve.

If you go to the www.traxxas.com they will have explode views of the engines with all the parts identified.

It means you bashed the *&^& out of your truck and probably never tuned it right or did the proper maintenace.

The piston skirt is the bottom portion of the piston.
I agree, you probably drove that engine into the ground. It certainly sounds like it was never taken down and maintained. I feel sorry for that picco and will bet that they will not give you the same service that Traxxas did if/when you trash it too.

For the record, a better understanding of the parts of an engine and how they work togeather will make you a better rc'er and a better tuner.

lol ur right i bashed the s@%t out of that truck but i did tune it right and always used asfter run oil i hit a wall and shattered the cooling head thoughas for the engine best offer probablly ill give a resanator pipe too, btw its a pull start pm or email me my email address is [email protected]

the motor was still too tight to get hammered! if you leave the motor fat and get a temp gun .... keep your engine below 260f and don't maul on it until its up to temp ...... picco definately will not give you the service and smile that traxxas does .. traxxas has in my opinion the best service out there, they don't care what ya do to it they replace the defective part or item ...... oh and here is a tip ... the only engine my 10yr old can't kill is the 3.3 and he tunes it his self!
