Default Setting up H9 27% Extra 260 for IMAC flight

Hello all.
I picked up a H9 Extra 260 in excellent condition from a friend for a very good price as a home for a Brillelli 46GT I had on the shelf.
I want to set up this bird for precision flight rather than attempt to make it a 3D ship, as I have flown it in the past and the H9 Extra is simply not an ideal 3D airframe.

I am looking for recommendations on CG and high/low control throws for the beast
Looking to start at forward side of CG range and use factory recommended low throws as low.

Thanks for any assist

             Hello!

I myself fly the H9 Extra 260, and I set the balance point at the factory recommendation at 5 inches back from the root of the wing.
The low throws are 1-1/4" up 15/16"down on the ailerons. 15/16"up 1-1/16"down on the elevator, and 1-7/8 left, and right on the rudder.
It says that you can balance the plane between 4-3/4 and 5-1/4, but I stayed in the middle at 5. I'm running a DA-50 with a 22-8 zinger
and I think the 50 is a little more than whats neccesary but it has awesome power!

Warbird guy,
did you set up 3D rates, or just a high rate with a bit more than low?
I plan to set low rates spot on to factory low, then add a bit more rudder and elevator for better snaps on high rates and not attempt to do the 40 odd degree 3D throws on this airframe

Well it really depends on your personal feel.

Some will set up the low rate aileron so it does 1 roll per second. I prefer a bit more aileron so I can roll at the pace I want at 1/2 stick, yet snap nice and clean with full stick.
Some like to flip switches so they have the rudder low for snaps and use a high rate for hammer heads.
A general rule of thumb for the rudder is have enough low rate rudder so at 3/4 throttle and full rudder you can hold the line, maybe just start to climb.
As far as elevators use as little possible and some expo so you can be as smooth as possible. I typically use 10-12 degrees of throw on my elevator.

Hope this helps.

I had mine set at the facory reccomendation, but quickly found out to get the quicker snaps and better response that I would have to add more throw in them, so I did and It works great now!

Put my cg back to 5 3/8" - 5 1/2", turned out to be a good 3D plane. BME 44, plenty of power!
