Can I use DX7 SPEKTRUM in BOOMERANG SPRINT JET?
Hello,
Sprint will be my first jet, i live in BRAZIL....
Can I use DX7 SPEKTRUM in this plane with p-80 jetcat turbine?
Is it possible pilot withou brakes because this plane is slow with flaps?
Thanks guys!

Yup! Had over a hundred flight with a DX7 and a baby boomer before the 9303 came out. The only drawbacks are 1) no slider for brakes and 2) digital trim on throttle..... neither are a big deal. I would use brakes unless you are flying from a grass field - you're gonna have a lot of residual thrust from the motor (flew mine on a falcon and it would build up a lot of speed on taxi) just my opinion. Have fun - great airframe!

Here is how I did it on a Roo
Ch-1put both rudder servos and the nosewheel stearing on one channel...a servo reverser or matchbox helps a lot on the nosewheel servo
Ch-2 elevator
Ch-3 ailerons (y them together)
Ch-4 Flaps
Ch-5 Retracts
Ch-6 throttle (Use single channel operation
Ch-7 brakes
That does it. I put the flaps on the two position switch and the brakes on the single switch. I use a simple on off valve for brakes and lube the hubs...works great like abs braking
Goodluck

Alo William, tudo bom?
This weekend I flew my old Kangaroo with a cheap 7 channel Spetrum receiver. The range check was as good as the 9 channel receiver and all went very well. My channel setup is somewhat different than Brian´s list. and here it goes:
2 channels for two strong servos on the elevon.
1 channel for two servos on the canard and wheel braking valve.
1 channel for three standard servos for rudders and steering.
1 channel for throttle (using a P80 with single channel operation).
1 channel for the retract valve and a extra y-harness with a onboard hextronic led voltimeter.
1 channel for the speedbrake and a extra y-harness for the redundant second switch and battery.
The led voltimeter is a safety feature for checking a stalled servo or how the batteries are charged/performing before each flight. Also it helps to check see how your electrical setup is performing as you drain your batteries.
Not satisfied with all this y´s in my plane, I am planning in using another one in a smoke system.

So CAN I use,
BREAK WITH FULL ELEVATOR ?
But the turbine in 3 positions key of the transmitter, ok ?

That's what most of us use, yes.
IMO it's a good idea to use the 3 pos'n switch for aux turbine control also, I saved a fireball killing the turbine once by switching off before impact!

I too used a 3 pos switch for turbine control, but I was always afraid that I should hit it during normal flight by accidence, so I changed to 1 channel operation (using the trim button), and programmed the "throttle cut" switch on the radio to do the immediate shutdown if needed, the throttle cut is placed in a "safe" place on my radio (14MZ), so that it won't be activated accidentially during flight (and I saved a channel )

you were worried you would hit a switch in flight killing the turbine so you changed it so that you've got a switch that will kill the turbine...................that makes sense must be a Futaba thing.

Sorry for your bad experience and that´s a good point: With a little programming work it´s easy to set the three position switch to kill the engine like in AUX mode using single channel operation. It is even possible to set the switch up position for the cooling RPM before turning the turbine off.. (mine is set this way)

Hi
So you dont have to use the 3 position switch id just use the throttle trim and when the trim and stick are both at lowest settings it shuts the turbine down without delay but still lets the turbine do its automatic cooling process
Thanks
George
