Used Modified Brushed Motor Settings
Hello,
I have a used modified Trinty Speed Gems 15T motor I was going to stick in my Tamiya DF-02 chassis. It has a dial at the top of the can marked on zero. There are marks to 50 to both the left and the right. There is a screw that I can remove and it looks like I can move the can to any of these other markings. These presumably *modify* the motor. What exactly does this do?

If you increase the timing it will increase the rpm's of the motor but your amp draw goes up also. It's a way to tune them.

Great answer. I assume that if I turn the dial in either direction towards the 50 mark, it does not matter. Also, how much do the AMPs go up? I am using a Dynamite Tazer 15T ESC and 7.2V 4600 mah battery. The product manual states that the controller is rated at 110 amps. I assume this should be completely fine.

Loosen the end cap, connect it toa battery,it will run at its fastest speedafter a second or two.Thenrotate it so that you are advancing it until it starts to spark. You are then ready to rumble</p>

Thanks,
Just to be clear:
1. Take the motor out of the car.
2. Loosen the motor end cap from the can.
3. Plug in a battery to the ESC, turn on the radio.
4. Hit full throttle on the radio
5. Start rotating the end cap
6. Something will spark.
7. Tie down the end cap in that position.
What will spark?
Thanks!

No mate connect it straight to a battery so you dont need a friend or third hand. Look inside the motor and rotate it until the armature starts to spark then tighten the end cap in that position.
