Hello, i'm a coplete novice so please excuse my iggnorance.


I have a turbo optima mid SE that i am looking to restore. It has a Le Mans 360 gold motor. When i plug in the battery, the wheels turn when using the pistol controller (FP-t2PKA - magnum junior)but i get nothing from the motor. I disconnected the motor from the car, to check it out.

If i hold down the trigger on the controller then manually spin the flywheel(right word?) that is connected to the motor, the engine turns (albeit slowly) . once again, the engine only moves when i start spinning it by hand.

Is this as simple as replacing the brushed (or as bad as having to replace the motor)

how old is your battery? could be that too. replacing the motor is not that bad, that motor is a little on the small side (I am assuming this is a 1/10 scale)

Actually, the 360 gold motor was a really good motor in it's time. It is definitely not too small for the car.

A 360 motor's can is the same diameter as a 540 motor and generally produce more torque than the equivalent 540 motor (not similar in any respect to a 380 motor).

My Battery is as old as the car, but the charge "seems" to be fine **but i've been known to be wrong

Is there any way to actually test the motor itself to determine if , in fact, it ISthe motor and not the battery.

Any help would be greatlyapprecaited

DO you have a manual speed control oe ESC? I suspect the motor is shot. You can try cleaning the comm with a grey pen erase. Then try to run the motor again.You can alsotry new brushes but again the motor probally is still bad. They are cheap. If the motor gets real hot after you run it the motor bad. Then get a new motor. A new battery will make a difference.
