bad trades
i do a lot of trading on rcu and enjoy working on these addicting little toys.(expensive toys) i like getting rigs and run a tank of fuel thru them and figuring out whats wrong or bent or loose on them, then take it in and strip them down to the chassis to clean, repair or replace whats wrong with them. i'm 50 and enjoy doing this more than beating or jumping them. i'm not saying i DON'T do this lol but when i'm done with a rig it's a pretty nice rig. almost new i guess, then i'll stare at it for a while till i'm sick of it on the shelf and decide to trade it. when i post it i'll call it rtr, meaning add fuel and go. but the last couple deals i've got these rigs are called rtr and when i receive them there not, especially this last one. its peiced together like some 8 year old worked on it. the worst part is its someone i'd met here on rcu and talked to at least once or twice a week. he turns around and sends me somthing that MIGHT be worth $100. i give up a prestine truck worth 4-450 for this. now i sent him messages telling him about it thinking he may make this rite, but instead ignores me. so i send him a message a couple days ago telling him i'm not excepting it and sending it back, and he pretty much said fu and merry xmas. i guess what i want to know is what does anybody else do in this predicament? did i do the right thing? now i've lost a friend on rcu. i'd like to see some feedback on matters like this one. if you go to my gallery you'll see some projects and the finished product. HAPPY NEW YEAR to all you rcers. thanx

That sucks...sounds like you get alotta enjoyment outta fixin em up...
this is the reason I dont do much if any deals on used stuff online...one persons works fine might be different then mine....I got old rc's I havent ran in a long time but havent sold them on here due to I'm afraid the person getting them might expect more then they will get...I'm actually leary of selling them to a nooby from here afraid the will blow it up or something and then claim I sold em junk....so its kinda a catch 22...
anyways I hope this doenst discourage you to much... like I said its awsome you get the enjoyment of fixing em up so others can enjoy em...to bad some person took advantage of your good faith...take care

With the level of care and craftsmanship you obviously put into your rigs, you should post them for sale rather than trade them. You can take a beater and refurbish it gaining the enjoyment of it and then passing it to someone who just "has to have it". You can also gain a little $$ in the process..................i've bounced that idea around a few times.
You need to message him again and let him know you are aware that HE knows it was not a fair deal (he knows it). Is there some level of protection for traders?

RE: bad trades
the rig he was receiving was a savage 25, not even fully broke in. i know he new what he was sending. had to of because he said he had to fix a certain item on the truck. and this is where ONE of the serious problems were. now i'm a little leary of doing trade anymore unless its someone i know or trust. its nice to have brand new but then i wouldn't have anything to do. lol always looking for a cheap rig for rainy day projects. feel free to pm me with your cheap broken rigs, as long as its not gonna break the bank for parts. thanx for the feedback. and i'm not returning this one till i get the savage home.
