lipo with no balancer
is it safe to use a 3 cell lipo and not balance it due to there being no balance port? if not what are the risks taken with using them?

The risk is that over time (6 months, 1 year, 2 years, etc.) the cells will get more and more out of balance and eventually you will be overcharging, overdischarging, certain cells. It's not worth the risk, pay the $20. or so for a blinky or another balancer and use it as often as possible.
