Waterproofed Mamba Max, warranty intact! [video]
Hi all,
I've seen various threads and videos about making ESCs waterproof or water-resistant with various chemical dips &sprays, but I've never liked these because they always void your warranty and are sometimes easy to mess up. When it came time to waterproof my Mamba Max for my Slash 4x4 trail truck, Idecided I wanted to 1)make sure no water would be getting in, and 2)do it in a way that folks with an in-warranty ESC can keep their coverage. What I did was simply build a waterproof box around the ESC, which leaves my heatsink exposed, but seals everything else up, without goo'ing the heck out of the circuitboard. I hope this is useful for others.
