Default F-15 After burner ring

I was messing around with some LED strip lights for the foamies and came up with this for my F-15. They will be conected to a brushed speed control Y of the throttle. As I throttel up they get briter. Here they are hooked up directly to the 3 cell LiPo. Total cost was about 20 bucks for the lights and 20 bucks for the speed control. I think they look pretty good

Very simple actually. The Strip lites are from RC Lazar toys. I used 2 strips in each cone. 1 yellow and one red with the red being closer to the tail end of the cone. and the speed control is a Brushed 10 amp E-flite. If you youi the speed controler, BE SURE to disconnect the positve Wire from the RX connection other wise you WILL feed power from the battery that powers the lites into you RX. The battery is a 3 cell 350 mHa Lipo.

A few more pics of the set up. Note the Positive wire removed from the RX plug. I also stuck Black Baron Chrome Coverrite to the inside of the tail cone. This coupled with the Stainless tail Pipe gives a nice reflection.

I didn't test it to see how long the lites stay on with the 350 mHa Battery. I will do some test tonight to see what I get on it

Roy

I just finished my test.

With a 350mHa 3 cell Lipo on at full power, the lights just started to dim a bit after 60 minutes. On my F-15 with a 7-1/2 minute timer that would give me about 8 flights.
Hope this haelps and glad to see you found the strips from Dan.

Post your install when you get it done.

Joe, Thats not bad at all. A battery that size would fit anywhere in a jet. Will do on the post. MIne will be a little more involved as I have no cones to take off!!!! ha.

Jetpilot.

I'm putting mine in a JL CT-114. Right now I'm just gathering all of what I need to complete it. The biggest holdup is the turbine. I'v tried to buy one for the last few weeks but out of the sizes I could use, the seller either had two prices on it or no ratings or didn't accept pay-pal and had no ratings!!! ha. A deal in a P-70 or equal size turbine best not show up or I might buy it. Ha. If I give up on the used ones I will prob call Tod or Chad and get a 90. Roy
