Hangar 9 Extra 260 27% Expo/radio set up
I have a new Hangar 9 Extra 260 27% with a DL-50 at 14lb 6.5oz dry weight. I just flew it for the first three flights today. I had a couple of seasoned 3D veterans helping me with the maiden voyage and initial landings. One of them flys a larger 40% version of this plane and has some serious (55%) Expo set on his Ailerons and Elevator. I have had 25% to 30% set on my Aerostar .40 trainer and Typhoon 2 3D foamy and have been doing well. With the 55% Expo on this plane it seemed tough to hold level with a bit of a gusty wind on landing. The flag at the field was almost straight out and diagonal across the runway at times (like whenever I tried to land)
What is everyone else running for Expo rates on their 27% Extras? I personally think the 55% is too docile in the middle, at least for what I am used to flying.
Your set ups or advice would be appreciated. I would hate to become a Pile-it instead of a Pilot of this great looking plane.
I am also looking for some good decal/dress up ideas. Pics are always welcome.
Here are some pics just because I love threads with pictures.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

You're going to have to play with the expo to get it to where YOU like it.
I fly helis too and I like crisp controls, most of the plank guys dont want to fly my planes because even on low rates they are pretty lively. There is no right or wrong way, just find where you're happy.
Check out B and E Graphics http://www.bandegraphix.com its where I'm getting the stuff for my Yak.

It comes down to personal feel and airplane set-up really, but if you want to sift through the main thread on this plane a few guys have listed their set-ups

I find generally unless you are really into IMAC 55% is going to be too mushy.
I generally like 25% - 35% on everything low rates and 55%- 75% on extreme 3D rates.
This being said ultimately you are the one flying it so you have to find something that works well for you.

A lot of this depends on how much control surface travel you have and where the CG is at. My Sukhoi has a little over 50 degs. of elev. travel in high and I use 75% expo in high rates. In low rates I use 30% but like everyone else is saying it's more personal preference and how your particular plane is setup.

With triple rates on mine:
1> stock low rates-15%
2>stock high rates-45% (except rudder@30%)
3>full deflection on all surfaces 50% (except rudder@30%)
Nice flying plane...have fun
Cheers,
Andrew.

On my Hangar 9 tribute, i actually use almost 60% on my rudder on high rates. On my elevator i think i'm running 45% on3D rates and for my ailerons i'm using 55% on 3D rates. <div>
</div><div>It all depends on how sensitive you want the control to be on 3D rates. I generally like having the control sensitivity about the same around neutral on High and low rates. </div>

If you are not bevel to bevel throws, 55% maybe too much just drop it to 45% or less.. make sure it aint overly noseheavy and make sure the sevos are MG and up to torque.
