On my RCMKwith Whobbies wet pipe and header there is an oil leak from where the header attaches to the engine. Is this normal?

My SS and a buddies Magnum did leak a bit so we used a little dab of high temp silicone before we tightened down the header. Not much just a little bit spread around the inside of the header did the trick. No more oil leak.

Thanks. Where exactly did you put the slicone?
Is it by the very first clamp on the header that I remove or do I also need to take the header cooler off as well?

Best we could figure out, was that the oil was working it's way into the cutouts and leaking forward. We remove the clamp and header and lightly coated the inside of the pipe only. You should be able to find high temp silicone at any auto parts store. This picture should be very similar to your setup. Coat the inside of the header only no need to coat under the clamp.

You can get higher temp silicon than that at auto stores, may as well...think it's 'super copper' or something like that.

Super copper or ultra copper from the same manufacturer previously posted are , almost the same as the black stuff mainly a different color.Speak with your local automotive supplier (not a large chain one) try your mom and pop guy.I have used both in high temp conditions such as head gasket and intake manifold repairs/quick fixes, water pumps etc for large automotive uses and have had the same results with both = no problems... HTH..

Mine started a little after 7 months in my Team Pro, i am going to just use the High temp Copper auto gasket maker.
That will do the trick and will last too.... just a very small amount!
