I've got a friend with a mini mgt and he's wanting to upgrade his motor to something with more power than the stock .18. I told him I'd do some research for him and find out what his options might be. The ideal situation would be a motor that is a direct drop in for the stock motor. I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I've upgraded a Tmaxx to a Supermaxx in the past and am aware of the problems with adding too much power and breaking differentials and driveshafts. I don't really want to recommend something bigger than a .21. Lets hear it! What motors are out there that would bolt into his truck without a big block conversion kit? He also likes the drill start that I have on my truggy. I told him I'd find him something with some sort of rotostart or drill start.

the OS 21 tm is a big engine with a small block mounting, altho it has a slide carb and you would have to do some linkage work to get the carb set up. look at the LRP engines they have small and big blocks . a small block LRP engine would be the ticket. i have the mini mgt and i dont think it needs more power myself.http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0093p?&C=GCT

i put the big block ae .21 in my mini mgt 3.0 and i lov it but u will have to change the motor mount

Get the New Era motor mount and a big block engine, and it will be great.
