An engine rebuild is fairly straight forward. Replace the piston and sleeve, http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXUT07&P=7 or http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXCJ12&P=7 (depending on if you have a .12 or .15) and that's basically it. Take off the pullstart, backplate and head. Once you've removed those items, you slide the conrod off the crankshaft, pull out the piston and rod and then remove the sleeve.
Assembly is just reversing the procedure of taking it all apart. Put the rod and new piston in through the top of the block and connect the rod to the crankshaft. Slide in the sleeve making sure the exhaust port is on the correct side, throw in a little engine lube and then reinstall the head, backplate and pullstart. You're done!
Now it's time to break it in just as you would any new motor. If you need a visual reference of the process, here's a link to HPI showing the engine rebuild procedure. It's not an OS motor, but the principal is the same. Good luck!!!

Unless you messed up on your tuning and ruined a piston and sleeve early in the engine's life it is not worth doing a rebuild. After a engine has used 3-4 gallons of fuel a proper rebuild would include a piston & sleeve, rod, crank bearings and possibly a new crank. Now if the crank bearings developed a little play in this time period then the crank bore in the crankcase would also be worn and the crankcase would be junk. Just throwing in a piston and sleeve would breath some new life into this engine but it wouldn't run as crisp as a new one and its life would be shorter. When you compare prices a new CV-r is the way to go and you even get a new carb and air filter to boot. Something to think about.
