Default .

I did not like it at all. Where are the photo galleries? Is everything(for sale/trades) that is or was on the old RCU gonna be transparent and available on the new and improved one? I will give it a chance but I still love the current or old site.

I don't think I've seen a nicer layout that this one right here... for ease of use, and ease of eyes.
No, I didn't like the new look, but I guess I will get used to it... green and all

I don't think, however, that I'll ever get used to not being able to:

1) Click on the link that says, "View new posts since last visit" (Which is all I'm interested in)
2) Track private messages to see when they've been read.

Other than those, I suppose I'll live... and perhaps those will be addressed sometime

Good luck with ironing out all the bugs soon.
If we've gotta adjust to a "new" look, the sooner the better

Forums are free to read and post....information is free. YOu can also view any ad and bid or make an offer on it without paying a dime. The only charges on new RCU are small fees for sellers...HALF of ebay for auctions and maximum of $1.75 for classified ads. One can pay zero insertion fees on both auctions and classifieds for $20 which covers an entire year. Hope that clears up the free question regarding the forums and site in general. If you haven't read the FAQ it answers most everything.

We will move the links and buttons up to the top...there are little things still left that I was going to do live today in front of you guys! I like to work on live sites when possible for the added pressure.

Why did rconline die and rcuniverse grow so large, why did rcairport after all that money on advertising still have a pittance of members and lose them to rcuniverse when they found out about it. Well unfortunately we are about to find out again. Give it a few months and someone will come out with a new forum site for RC'ers (and not salesmen and manufacturers).
RCuniverse should be selling its strengths not buying rcairports weaknesses.
Sorry but the new site is just the same old marketing web site drivel, it will go well at first as we have nowhere else to go but it will come. RCuniverse was the best site of its type ever and now we have someone paying to sell to us, sorry but I browsed here everyday for a few hours and hit the classifieds every morning and night and bought three giantscale planes, auctions are the pits, with fees too, talk about one giant step backwards.
sorry
Paul

Is this what we're gonna have to deal with...I don't like it much. I know change is good and that it'll take awhile to get used to, but I kinda' like the way things are now.

BTW, where's the clubhouse? Oh and those ad cookies have got to go! Not to mention, the background totally clashes w/ my avatar!!! I'm really gonna' miss the old RCU!

You're such a glutton for punishment, Marc

We know you'll have it tip-top again before long.

Default Kranitz Enterprises, Inc.

I trust Marc will do the right thing, whatever it is.

I don't trust Kranitz Enterprises, Inc though. That is who owns RCONLINE.COM and RCAIRPORT.COM and now has a merger agreement with RCUNIVERSE.COM.

Seems that you are "dancing with the devil" Marc. Let's hope you are the one in the lead.

I tried to use the new format and did not like it at all, to much to navigate through just to get to the fourms, to much clutter.

And another thing, i have to pay a monthy fee so others can view my gallery, was not aware of that.

So if u have pictures u better save them as they wont in your gallery when the new format is up and running.

Its also like the Rcairport format, and fonts. I think in the last year i have gone there twice and never signed up, and never will.

The way you have it now is a breeze to navigate through , very simple, its a pity it can't stay that way. i've been here since day 1 of RCU

I wish you the best of luck with it.

Robert

All the same stuff I heard when I first opened RCU's doors almost 2 years ago....if I listened to them all RCU wouldn't be here today.

To the posters above posting mis-information. Posting is FREE in the forums.

Cookies are the same that we use here. Cookies are used on ALL websites otherwise how do you think you stay loggedd in from page to page? How does the site know you are you when you come here everyday? Cookies...read up on them.

For anybody who doesn't sell here at RCU the new site represents almost ZERO difference from what RCU is right now barring a few color changes. Period. If you sell it will cost you half of ebay to auction and almost nothing to post a classified.

Now...how many more posters will come into this thread and negate exactly what I just posted in this post? Bets anyone? If some of you would simply read the posts here before posting you would not say what you say.

I'm closing this now before 50 other guys come in and complain how they aren't going to use RCU because they can't post for free anymore. I don't have time to type over and over to correct the mis-information.

F900 - Too much to navigate to get to the forums? Did you miss the giant button in the top nav that said "Forums"? Did you miss the giant 6 icons at the very top of the homepage that let you go directly to any of the forum sections or to your own personal myforums homepage? Did you miss the hot forum topics at the bottom of the page? There are 3 ways to get to the forums and directly to your area of interest with 1 (one) click. How hard is that??????????? If those 3 methods are too tough you can simply bookmark the forum page and then you don't even have to make the 1 click.
