Scampton Jets 7th / 8th August
Just back from a great weekend at Scampton, Big thanks to Dan Platts, and all who made the event a success.
The weather was kind also, just two showers on Saturday afternoon.
Another highlight was no accidentsor incidents over the weekend.
I have attached some photographs courtesy of Dean Bagley - RAFSMFC
Regards,
Alistair.

RE: Scampton Jets 7th / 8th August
Great weekends flying! Personally I am very very happy as I got another 5 flights on my hunter and I am really enjoying flying it.
Other points I noticed - Jason Fletcher is flying really well, even manging to use the rudder, which he seems to want to tell me everytime he flies, no idea why! Steve Elias was flying as precisely as ever with his fabulous Ultra Bandit. It was also great to see some of the newer faces on the jet scene, Dean Jackson and Keith Barnes, really enjoying themselves, which after all is what it is all about. Gary Pope(aka Madmodelman) also put the first flights on his Javelin and was very happy. I also watched one of Phil Greeno's flights with his Comp Arf Hawk and it looks like he is really enjoying it.
Once again a thousand thanks to Dan for his efforts to secure the site for the weekend.
Geoff(off to bed as I am knackered and I have work in the morning)
Ps. Alastair, if that was a shower on Saturday I would hate to see it raining really hard.

I haven't enjoyed a jet meet this much for a while! Great bunch of people at this meeting and as Geoff said, it's good to see some newer faces too. No scary moments and no crashes, just a brilliant weekend.
Congratulations from me to two people:
Julian for doing a solo with the pig.
&
Geoff for "manging" to use the rudder.

The Plastic Pig....
Someone left a Emcotec "Remove before flight" red pennant and magnet on the runway.
I presume it fell off when you took off !
Contact Geoff to get it back.

Not long back for me and my lovely helper,
I was working and could not make Saturday, but whow-did Sunday make up for it ,
Great weather all day,or so i thought, but having watched the video back, the sky was grey and dull late sunday,so luckily the pilots dwindled and my last 2 flights were solo, some times things are just that bit
better when you fly alone ,mind you 7 flights in 1 day is a good score sheet-yee haa.
A few pics of the day including me new eco-friendly stop smoking nasty tasting thingy []
Thankyou to all that made it possibe -f a n t a s t i c day,

As everyone said, a great weekend, thanks to everyone who helped me with a few niggling problems, you all know who you are.
Worth going just to see Geoff flying his Hunter so very scale like.
Alistair, you didn't happen to get a shot of the Javelin by any chance did you? We have some vid but no stills!
Gary.
