Great Elvington Jet Weekend
Great day today at the Elvington Jet Weekend, fantastic weather, some great models and pilots together with a nice relaxed flying atmosphere.
Good range of Jets on display, highlights for me....Dave Wilshere dialing in my Inspiration on only it's 2nd flight from new, thanks for your time, advice and the relaxing easy way you flew and gave a hint of it's capabilities.....it has serious potential.
Fantasticly smooth Comp Arf Tutor also, definately my next jet for the Mammoth once I finish the Eurosport.
Thanks also to all my fellow hard working Elvington club members who made it so easy to fly in such a relaxed atmosphere.....and no serious casualties...at least today that I saw.
That P20 sure is small, makes my hand look hideously huge
Cheers
Rob.

Great day! I wasn't supposed to be free today with the start of my family vacation week, but a kiddies party for the girls released me and son William just for today!
All those who could have gone You missed a great day, friendly people, superb site...my travelling partner Rob Westwater's passing comment was we must do that one again! Even the traffic each way was great...
Pleasure flying your Inspiration..tea tray and all! The merlin 90 is a perfect powerunit for it. Had fun flying the baby Cougar P20, CARF Hawk and Tutor..plus my Habu! William my son got his Jet meeting duct sorted with a couple of flights on his F-16, Rob Westwater managed four flights with his new CARF Hawk and a couple with his yellow Check Flash. Thanks for everything guys we had a blast with as much flying as you wanted.

Nothing, there is no elevator with either flap position. The Tutor does like to be nose heavy, I think it's the chuuby fuselage adding lift area infront of the balance point, it likes to balance at 22-25%, I keep adding weight and it gets better!

I'm sunburnt and tired but also very happy. I managed 10 flights over the weekend with my Bobcat and Flash with very little incident.
Today was particularly good with awesome weather and a great variety of models. The P-20 is very cool and the CARF Tutors and Hawks were rock solid. Other models that stood out for me were the Mick Reeves Hunter and Lightning, the Horton and the Phantoms. I almost had as much fun watching as I did flying (which is not normal for me!!).
Now, where's that after sun!!

Just got back after a 4 hour drive. Great day for flying, nice warm light wind and no rain. It was really worth the effort to drive all the way here. The site must be the best we have ever flown at. The area of concrete pan is just mind blowing. On Google maps it looks like 1500 ft by 1000 ft of nice level concrete that is nice and smooth. No problem with cross winds here..just move the direction of the pilots box!
Many thanks to Martin Lees and the Elvington club for hosting the event, could not have been any better.

Very Nice video that Matthew. Nice flying from Andy as usual. I just want to add my thanks to those of Martin, to all who visited us this weekend, especially those who had long journeys. I hope we will see you next year.

Well I'll be putting next years date in my diary! A very enjoyable day on Sunday - four flights on my one flight old Hawk and a couple on the old faithful Flash for good measure. Perfect weather too. Well worth the journey.
Many thanks to the organisers.
