Default RE: B-17

Have you guys ever done an electric B-17? Some time in the future I want to build a B-17. But I really dont think i could manage the extra hassle that comes with a twin IC plane, never mind a 4-engined IC. Atleast, not for another decade atleast But I was just thinking that It would probably be much easier to put four electric's in a B-17, and maybe after that build another with glow. Am I right? and if so, would I have to fiddle quite abit with weights with electrics? Im not familiar with them, but what I mean is, how close are the weights of an electric motor with everything to power it (like, that would go in one nacelle) similar to the weight of one nacelle of a glow?

Go to http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/Glow...mid_132/tt.htm here at RCU. It is a section devoted to just what you are talking about in doing electric conversions of gas planes. Those guys really seem to know their stuff.
Good luck,
Twinman
PS Yes, the day before the flight three of us took 2.5 hours getting the engines ready for flight.....you see that as a problem??
